About Me

Hey everyone,

Jason Rivera here.

This is me below...

In the past this blog has been a way for me to learn and collect my thoughts.  So that I can look back on where I've been.  And how far I've come as an investor over time.

But now this blog is geared towards helping you become better investors and business people.  And to also help the world in the process.

I'm a self-taught deep value.  Contrarian.  And special situations investor.  Who concentrates for the most part on companies under $1 billion in market cap.  OTC and ADR companies.  And special situations.

I've written a full length - acclaimed - value investing education book called How To Value Invest.  Have worked for a prominent investment newsletter.  And am now dedicated to helping you become the best value investors you can become.

If you have a site you would like me to write a guest blog post for I would love to do so.  I'm also open to being interviewed.  And if you're interested in writing a guest post for this site please let me know.

  1. Jason:

I would potentially be interested in collaborating with you.

I have a little bit of experience, I’ve been investing since I was 18.

I have a BBA with a finance major. I also have a JD degree. I’ve been posting on the Yahoo! message boards for years. I have a few “guest” articles on different “value” websites.

I am going to suggest that you will need a detailed strategy to produce market beating results.

My primary strategy (at this point) is to go into micro & nano cap stocks. This particular area of the market is not particularly efficient. For example, I have invested in companies with P/E’s of 1 or 2. I have invested in companies that have paid out MORE than my purchase price in dividends within a 4 year period and have gone up 7x.

These companies will have no analyst coverage and are somewhat difficult to find…

It is my opinion that you will make your market beating gains by having stocks that have gone up 10x, 20x, and even 50X and 100X. Of course, this will take time, but it is most definitely doable.

    Good luck.

  2. Hi Jason,if you are the same guy who is writing the Brooklyn Investor…could you try to do a valuation of the recent spinoff from Leucadia of Crimson Wine group ?
