About Me

About Me

Hey everyone,

Jason Rivera here.

This is me below…

I’m a self-taught value investor who focuses on small and obscure public companies to buy for my investors.  And I’m now also looking for private businesses and cash flow producing real estate to buy as well.

I’m the author of the acclaimed value investing education book How To Value Invest.  Have run this blog Value Investing Journey for more than five years now.  Wrote a 60-page book detailing the immense power of investment float that I released for free to readers of this blog and followers – on Twitter and Facebook – titled All About Float.  Have written for several publications and investment newsletters including: Seeking Alpha, Guru Focus, Insider Monkey, and Palm Beach Research Group among others.

I mentor others on how to become great value investors, consult on projects requiring business analysis and valuation skills, and run my investment holding company Rivera Holdings LLC. out of the Tampa Florida area.

And through the first five full years of my investment career I’ve produced returns of 29.2% for investors – on average not compounded – every year.  This is better than the 25.4% Buffett produced in the first five years of his career.

If you have a site you’d like me to write a guest blog post for or interview me for I’d love to do so.

  1. Jason:

I would potentially be interested in collaborating with you.

I have a little bit of experience, I’ve been investing since I was 18.

I have a BBA with a finance major. I also have a JD degree. I’ve been posting on the Yahoo! message boards for years. I have a few “guest” articles on different “value” websites.

I am going to suggest that you will need a detailed strategy to produce market beating results.

My primary strategy (at this point) is to go into micro & nano cap stocks. This particular area of the market is not particularly efficient. For example, I have invested in companies with P/E’s of 1 or 2. I have invested in companies that have paid out MORE than my purchase price in dividends within a 4 year period and have gone up 7x.

These companies will have no analyst coverage and are somewhat difficult to find…

It is my opinion that you will make your market beating gains by having stocks that have gone up 10x, 20x, and even 50X and 100X. Of course, this will take time, but it is most definitely doable.

    Good luck.
