2020 VIJ Philippines Charity Project

Back on December 22, 2020, I wrote a blog post telling you about our latest charity project in the Philippines.

My team and I donate and do a project every year there for the reasons outlined below…

And this year we chose to give to those affected by Super Typhoon Vamco.

Here’s what I said back on December 22nd about why…

On November 11th The Philippines was hit by Super Typhoon Vamco and it devastated much of the country as you can see in the picture above.

  • Flooding
  • Homes Lost
  • Livelihoods Lost
  • Family Members Lost

The storm destroyed more than 270,000 homes and led to 111 deaths – and made The Philippines already a bad problem with homelessness much worse.

Every year I donate money to causes in the Philippines around Christmas to feed, clothe, educate, and take care of kids and families in the country.

And this year we’ve chosen to help people affected by this typhoon.

Why?

I have a close connection with the Philippines…

My wife is a Filipina…

My 3 daughters are half Filipina…

Worried about the next major market crash?  Want to protect your investments from that crash?  And do you want to learn how to profit from the next market crash by buying undervalued stocks?  If so, click here to learn more about our Value Investing Masterclass.

Much of my wife’s family is Filipino…

All of my team members are Filipino…

I love the Filipino culture of putting family first – and yes, I love Filipino food.

This year I am reaching out to you to join me by donating any amount to the victims of this typhoon that devastated parts of the Philippines.

100% of your contributions – barring any fees GoFundMe takes out – will go toward buying food, clothing, and helping those most affected by this typhoon.

Thanks for your time and consideration.

Previous years’ projects

P.S. Here below are some of the past ways we’ve helped those in need in the Philippines to give you some reference on how your donation will be used this year.

Last year we donated food packs to typhoon victims in Bicol and earthquake victims in Davao.

See the video below.

In 2018 we helped 75 families in one of my teammate’s hometown in the Philippines…

This year…

Today, I’m writing to update you after my team finished this year’s project.

In total, through donations, we were able to help feed 40 families and 200 people in total this holiday season.

On top of the food given to those in dire need, we also donated 78 pairs of sandals to the kids of the village. And in the food pack, also gave people sanitizer to help keep people safe from the ongoing pandemic.

All the people we donate to every year are in extreme need of food and sandals due to poverty.

But this year, when my team went to donate the packages of food and sandals, people were in such need that my team multiple times got rushed and crowded before village officials could warn them to stay back for safety due to the potential for spread of the coronavirus.

This is how dire needs are in this area right now…

People are in a literal survival state due to the lack of food and clean water after the typhoon.

You can see much of the devastation and many of those we helped. Including the smiles and joy in the video my teammate Mildred put together below.

Video Narrated, Produced, And Created By My Teammate Mildred

Thank you

Thanks so much to Edita Amante who donated to this project along with myself and my team – specifically my teammates who are husband and wife, Mildred and Saldy – who put this together and personally took their time to coordinate, donate, narrate the video, personally give, and get the pictures and videos created.

And thanks so much to you reading this right now and the others who read, watch, view, and buy our stuff.

A portion of all our proceeds every year go to projects like this during the holiday season.

With this year’s charity project, we’ve now helped feed around 1,000 people and 250+ families in the last few years.

Without your support, none of this would be possible.

I hope you enjoy the video update above.

And I can’t wait to do even more with your help next year.

Always in your service,

Jason Rivera
