On Failure
Or How I Grew And Improved A Lot In The Last Six Months
“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” Thomas Edison
Almost six months ago I wrote to you saying that I’d gotten hired in this post.

I spent most of the last six months working 9 – 14 hours a day. Six days a week to learn as fast as possible, to help grow the company in any way possible.
I loved everything about the business. The amount I learned and improved. South Florida. And most important the friends I made.
But I failed… Kind of…
The company and I parted ways amicably. And I’m now back in South Dakota – at least for the time being.
My Biggest Fear Growing Up
When I was younger this would have crushed me.
I remember in high school a teacher asking me what my biggest fear was. And without hesitation I answered “FAILURE.”
But this has not crushed me.
Because of the friends I made at the company telling me that I did a great job while I was there. Because I knew I did a great job. And due to a change in my mindset in the last few years geared towards improving every day instead of worrying about results that I can’t control. This has not crushed me.
Even though it didn’t work out with them I learned a ton. Proved to myself that I know what I’m doing. Learned that I should trust myself more. And that I have the skills, work ethic, and determination to become wildly successful.
So I don’t consider this a failure. This was a great learning experience.

If you’ve been on the blog in the last couple weeks you’ve seen some changes. And you will continue to see changes while I update the blog to include some of the things I learned in the last six months.
I will get into what this means over the coming days for this blog and myself. But I have major plans for this blog and my family.
I’m so glad to be back sharing with you. And learning from you.
I am ready to kick some ass. Do great things. And help anyone I can learn.
