This is a special Value Investing Journey and Rivera Holdings Presentation.
I’ve never had an issue speaking in front of people, but the last time I did it was in high school, 13 years ago.
So when my local library asked me to present to a group of disadvantaged teenagers, I was both nervous and excited.
Nervous because I hadn’t spoken publicly in so long. Excited because I’d wanted to speak in front of people again for a long time, but up to this point, had never had the chance.
Several months ago, I was at my local library a lot to film training videos for the Value Investing Journey Masterclass.
Because of this, I got to know several library employees a bit.
One day, the topic came up of how they were looking for someone to teach a financial literacy course to disadvantaged teens of the local high schools.
I told them why I was coming to the library so much and offered to speak to these kids and help in any way I could.
Below is part 2 of the speech I gave to these disadvantaged teens.
In both this video and part 1 – which released here – I gave a presentation on ALL Your Options After High School.

Here's What Matteo A. Said About The Masterclass - "Good choice to decide to join this group. I made the same decision as you to seriously learn investing and this seems a great place to start. You will learn a lot from this course and Jason is always available to help you with any questions or doubts you may have during the journey."
Why?
A) Because this is what the library asked me to talk about
B) Because even when you were going through high school, you only ever heard one or two of the options, so I wanted to let these kids know about all their options and give them some free resources to help them on their path as well.
In the video below, I also tell my story as well to give these kids context on not only why they should trust me to teach something like this, but also to hopefully inspire them that they can do anything they put their mind to.

But for now let’s get to the speech.
The kids were engaged, asking questions, and said they got value from the presentation – they could just be being polite I know 🙂 -, the library and librarian were happy, and even though I felt I could have done a better job in parts, I thought it went really well for the first time speaking publicly in 13 years.
Let me know what you thought of the presentation in the comments below.
I hope you got some value from this presentation as well.
My team and I are working on multiple public speaking engagements around the world so if you’d like me to speak at your event or an event you know of anywhere in the world let me know in the comments below.
P.S. I’m working now with the same librarian to build a full 6 week-long investing / entrepreneurship program at this same library. The focus again will be to help disadvantaged kids in my local area.
