My Thoughts on Retirement, and Why I Never Plan to Retire

To Continue Working or Retire? A Question I Get On A Regular Basis

In my network of friends / family / colleagues, I’m most often known as ‘The Investment Guy’.

Because of this, I’m often asked about the latest trend in investing, whether it be years ago, gold and silver, the Greek Crash a couple years ago, or more recently, weed stocks and cryptocurrency.

Today, I give you my thoughts on something I get asked about all the time – retirement and when do I think people should retire.

Let’s get to it.

In the 14-minute video above, I tell you my thoughts on retirement.

Here are some of the things I talked about in the video above:

  • What I think about retirement
  • Why I never plan to retire
  • Why I don’t get the allure of retirement and doing nothing
  • Why doing nothing sucks
  • Why most people who retire end up unretiring at some point soon after
  • And more…

You learn several reasons above for why I never plan to retire.

Another reason I NEVER plan to retire is that of the immense power of compound interest over long time periods.

Warren Buffett made over 90% of his enormous wealth after he’d been investing for decades already. The chart above is from a few years ago. As of now, he’s worth ~$70 billion and this is after donating billions of dollars to the Gates Foundation.
